We thought that was odd, but a couple of hours later, we went to the steakhouse to get a glass of wine and the hostess said they weren't serving yet.
She said the steakhouse served wine, but there was no lounge. We asked one of the attendants where the lounge was and she gave us a funny look. After we'd been at the casino for a few hours, we noticed that there were beverage bars serving soft drinks in several places, but we decided we wanted a beer. The poker rooms are full all the time and have waiting lists for a seat to play. Things that surprised us (in a bad way) were that there is an 'ante' for blackjack of 50 cents per hand (unless you're betting $50 or more - then the ante is $1.00 per hand). I'm sure this part will get better with time. Hey, the place is new and the staff is real friendly and anxious to please. Checking in was a little bit of a problem as their computer showed we had used our free night the week before - my husband, good-naturedly, asked if we'd had a good time - and it took about 30 minutes to get everything straightened out. Our room was large and comfortable, as well as tastefully decorated.
I have to say that the hotel is really well done. My husband and I went to Choctaw on March 26, 2010, because we'd been given a free room, free dinner, and $20 to play in the slot machines (thank you, Dallas Mavericks!).
